Glyph Collection

With technology shaping communication, visual language has overtaken the verbal. Texts, emails, symbols, and fonts now dominate how we connect. Inspired by this shift, the Arc-Com Design Studio partnered with the renowned House Industries to create the Glyph Collection—a modern textile series celebrating the beauty of typographic forms.

Founded in 1993 by Andy Cruz, House Industries has spent decades crafting iconic fonts, shaping the identities of brands like Hermès, Lego, and The New Yorker. Their work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt and The Henry Ford Museum.

“The alphabet as a muse—creating patterns that morph glyphs into something beyond an isolated character—is what inspired the Glyph Collection.” – Andy Cruz

The Glyph Collection: Typography as Textile
Each pattern in the collection transforms letterforms into striking woven designs:

Pound: A bold, linear take on the number sign, hashtag, and octothorp.
Tilde: A flowing, rhythmic accent mark turned into eye-catching rows.
X Pattern: Inspired by musical notation, creating interlocking hues.
i Pattern: Playful lowercase script ‘i’ waves dotted with color.
Parentheses: Staggered and rotated to form a modern, abstract structure.
Typography: A grounding texture that ties the collection together.

Each pattern is a standalone statement piece, designed with unique color palettes reflecting their personality—bold, vibrant, or timelessly neutral. While they weren’t designed as a coordinated set, they can be mixed in endless creative ways.

While solids and textures have dominated interiors, the Glyph Collection delivers fresh, modern patterns—a bold statement for those seeking something truly unique.
